“Gege, I have something to go out for,” Shi Qiu put away his phone and said to Jiang Fengmian.

Jiang Fengmian was a bit surprised. “What’s the matter? Where are you going?”

Shi Qiu never had other friends. The whole world revolved around him. What could he possibly need to go out for?

Shi Qiu didn’t expect such detailed questioning and was momentarily stuck.

“Um… President Zhong has something to tell me and asked me to go to the student council office at X School,” Shi Qiu honestly replied, unable to lie to Jiang Fengmian.

Jiang Fengmian’s brows immediately furrowed. “What does Zhong Xiyuan want from you?”

“I don’t know,” Shi Qiu shook his head. “But he said it’s important, and I’m going to the office. It can’t be anything urgent, right, Gege?”

Jiang Fengmian frowned. He didn’t think Zhong Xiyuan was a good person, but he couldn’t stop Shi Qiu. So he said, “Then take a taxi there. Call me immediately if anything happens.”

“Okay,” Shi Qiu obediently agreed.

Jiang Fengmian watched him leave, wondering when Shi Qiu had become so familiar with Zhong Xiyuan.

At X School, Shi Qiu opened the student council office door and saw Zhong Xiyuan sitting in a chair. Behind his glasses, his fox-like eyes looked at Shi Qiu with a mysterious gaze.

“Lock the door,” Zhong Xiyuan said.

The office light was on but the blinds were drawn, blocking the windows completely. The atmosphere felt a bit tense.

Shi Qiu looked warily at Zhong Xiyuan, then at the door behind him. Weighing their combat abilities, he hesitated but eventually locked the door.

“You said you had something important. What is it?” Shi Qiu asked, standing at the door.

“Come over here.” Zhong Xiyuan’s eyes scanned the exposed skin of Shi Qiu, focusing on his neck. But Shi Qiu shrank into his down jacket, making it hard to see clearly.

Shi Qiu slowly walked over. Zhong Xiyuan stood from behind the desk. Seeing Shi Qiu trying to avoid him, he stepped closer.

Shi Qiu retreated to the small sofa and couldn’t help but raise a hand to block Zhong Xiyuan’s chest. “You said it was important. Just say it.”

“Why so close?” the big white ball (Shi Qiu) muttered.

Zhong Xiyuan looked down at Shi Qiu’s hand on his chest, grabbed it, examined it carefully, then suddenly asked, “When did you get involved with Lu Chengyan?”

Shi Qiu was so shocked he fell onto the sofa.

He hadn’t said anything yet, but Zhong Xiyuan already knew the news was true by his reaction.

“Aren’t you into Jiang Fengmian?” Zhong Xiyuan narrowed his eyes and leaned in closer. His tone was calm but Shi Qiu felt a chilling coldness in his words. “Does Jiang Fengmian know you slept with Lu Chengyan?”

“What do you mean?” Shi Qiu frowned impatiently. “And where did you get this info?”

Even though Lu Chengyan promised not to let others know, Shi Qiu still trusted his character.

“Funny coincidence,” Zhong Xiyuan smiled faintly, though his eyes held no humor. “The day before yesterday, when I went to the hospital to see my grandpa, I just happened to see Lu Chengyan carrying someone inside.”

Shi Qiu’s eyes widened. Who would have thought?

Zhong Xiyuan used a finger to pull down Shi Qiu’s mask slightly, his fingertip lightly stroking his cheek. “Played into the hospital by Lu Chengyan, huh? How come I didn’t realize how good you are?”

“Just talk. Don’t touch.” Shi Qiu slapped his hand away with a frown.

Zhong Xiyuan’s suppressed anger flared up. He grabbed Shi Qiu’s chin and blurted out, “Already played to pieces by Lu Chengyan, and you’re pretending to be pure with me?”

The words surprised even Zhong Xiyuan himself. Then a loud slap echoed in the office.

Shi Qiu rubbed his slightly numb right hand, looking at Zhong Xiyuan’s face turned away from the slap. There was no trace of his usual innocent and cute look in his eyes. His tone was cold, “Zhong Xiyuan, I’ve given you face, okay?”

Zhong Xiyuan slowly turned his head, adjusting his crooked gold-rimmed glasses. Shi Qiu’s slap was full strength. The face of one of the top-tier students at X School now bore a bright red finger mark that would soon swell.

Zhong Xiyuan licked the slapped cheek and fixed his narrow fox eyes on Shi Qiu, who stared back. Those always sparkling eyes now seemed frozen, sharp and biting.

“Ha.”

Zhong Xiyuan smiled and suddenly lunged forward, pinning Shi Qiu on the sofa. Just as Shi Qiu prepared to punch him, Zhong Xiyuan kissed him on the lips.

Shi Qiu’s mind went blank at that moment. He struggled and tried to push Zhong Xiyuan away, but Zhong Xiyuan was like a mad dog, licking his lips and using his tongue to pry his teeth apart.

Shi Qiu forcefully flipped him to the floor, straddled him, grabbed Zhong Xiyuan’s neck with his right hand, wiped his own mouth with his left, and impatiently asked, “Zhong Xiyuan, are you crazy?”

Zhong Xiyuan was gasping for air under Shi Qiu’s grip, hair disheveled, glasses crooked again, but he laughed even more happily. “Hehe…”

Shi Qiu, sitting on him, noticed what was pressing against his back growing harder. He looked at Zhong Xiyuan’s messy face incredulously. “Zhong Xiyuan, are you sick or what?”

He tightened his grip on Zhong Xiyuan’s neck. Then he clearly felt the thing pressing against him getting even harder.

Shi Qiu immediately recoiled as if touching something dirty, jumped up, and stepped back two paces.

His lips opened and closed, trembling. He wanted to curse but feared it would just excite Zhong Xiyuan, so in the end, he said nothing.

Pervert sadist M, disgusting!

Shi Qiu turned to open the door and leave. Zhong Xiyuan on the floor turned his head and said suddenly, “If you leave just like that, I’ll call Jiang Fengmian and tell him I saw you played into the hospital by Lu Chengyan.”

Shi Qiu’s hand that was about to reach the door handle silently pulled back. He turned and stood beside Zhong Xiyuan, looking down at him with a very bad tone. “So what do you want to do about it?”

Zhong Xiyuan’s eyes darkened. Jiang Fengmian really didn’t know about Lu Chengyan and Shi Qiu’s relationship, and Shi Qiu wanted to keep it that way.

“At least help me out a bit.” Zhong Xiyuan indicated his lower half.

Shi Qiu raised an eyebrow. His current demeanor was very different from usual. Zhong Xiyuan guessed Shi Qiu might slap him again, which would be quite satisfying.

Just thinking about it made him even harder.

Shi Qiu squatted down, took Zhong Xiyuan’s glasses off, grabbed his neck with his right hand, lifting his upper body slightly. Their faces were very close.

“Zhong Xiyuan,” Shi Qiu looked down at his slightly narrowed fox eyes and the face growing red from breathing difficulty. He said softly, “If you dare talk nonsense in front of my gege…”

Zhong Xiyuan stared at him, breathing hard and excited. Dare to talk nonsense? Go die, huh?

“I’ll go die.” Shi Qiu looked at Zhong Xiyuan’s surprised wide eyes, finally showing a satisfied smile. Then he kissed him, tonguing vigorously. After just a few seconds, Shi Qiu felt Zhong Xiyuan shudder.

He glanced at the place where Zhong Xiyuan calmed down, then tossed him on the ground like trash. Standing, he grabbed two tissues from the table to wipe his mouth, put his mask back on, and opened the door to leave.

After Shi Qiu left, Zhong Xiyuan caught his breath, slowly got up, and put his glasses back on.

His face, slapped by Shi Qiu, was thoroughly swollen and couldn’t be seen in public for now. But he still had a meeting in the afternoon and some pants to deal with.

Zhong Xiyuan took a mask from the desk drawer, put it on, and started handling the messy business.

Shi Qiu walked out of the teaching building, feeling angrier the more he thought about it.

Zhong Xiyuan, that sadist M, neither slapping him nor not slapping him felt right. No matter what, it was a reward, which was especially frustrating.

Shi Qiu grumpily shrank further into his down jacket, looking more and more like a big white ball.

Zhong Xiyuan stood by the window and pulled up the blinds. Seeing the grumpy white ball sitting by the flowerbed, he couldn’t help but smile.

Though the smile made his face ache.

He took out his phone, scrolled through contacts, and started dialing.

“Hello, Uncle Li, it’s me, Zhong Xiyuan.” His voice was polite.

“Oh, little Yuan, what’s going on?” The middle-aged man on the other end laughed.

“Here’s the thing. I thought about it. The final week at X School ends very early, and there’s a long gap before the New Year. Starting internship after New Year would be too late. I want to start now to gain experience.” Zhong Xiyuan’s gaze was fixed on the white ball by the flowerbed as he spoke calmly.

“Start internship now?” Uncle Li sounded hesitant. “It’s not that I’m unwilling. It’s just that Qingxiang currently has no good projects.”

It was already winter, the year-end review was coming, and basically no new projects were opening. The ones close to finishing would just be for Zhong Xiyuan to pick the low-hanging fruit and pad his resume.

“Isn’t there a project called Long Winter that hasn’t officially started yet? Can I be assigned there?” Zhong Xiyuan asked.

Uncle Li’s voice relaxed. “That one, yeah, that’s possible. But it’s a web series. Why go for that small project? The one after New Year is a big production airing on satellite TV. It’d look great on your resume.”

“A small project is perfect for a newbie like me who knows nothing. It’s a campus drama and will finish in two months. I can wrap it up and then go to the big project you arrange. Good for gaining experience.” Zhong Xiyuan looked at the white ball who finished sulking, got up from the flowerbed, and left for the school gate to catch a taxi.

“Possible, but won’t it be too exhausting?”

Zhong Xiyuan smiled. “I’m young and want to learn quickly. Isn’t it right to endure some hardships?”

Hearing this, Uncle Li was so pleased he patted his thigh. “Ah, little Yuan, you’re such a good kid. Kids like you are rare nowadays. Most are just spoiled rich kids…”

“Well then, I’ll leave the internship to you. I’m ready to start anytime.”

“No problem. It’s just a phone call. I’ll have someone contact you. You can go directly tomorrow.”

“Thanks, Uncle.” Zhong Xiyuan smiled, touching his swollen face.
